ok, so heres the deal,
i got an 8-port switch and networked mine and my brothers
computers to share files and internet, it all worked fine,
then i took my computer to college where i had to change
something with the IP settings, which i dont remember what
i changed, and now im back home for the summer and cant
network anything together anymore, under network
connections it shows i have a 1394 Network adapter and a
Local Area Connection, i dont remember the 1394 connection
being there last year, my question is, is it possible to
uninstall/remove all the network adapters and all that and
start over, making it like it was when the comp was new
and networking worked without the system restore.
Thank you,
Houston

The 1394 connection was probably there before -- it uses the
"FireWire" port on your computer. If you don't have a FireWire
network, you can ignore it.

You can go to Device Manager, remove the Ethernet network adapter,
reboot, and let XP detect and re-install it. That will also replace
the network connection that the Ethernet adapter uses.
