The programme is set to load on booting the computer. This does not
happen and it is necessary to manually start MSAS.

It does not appear until I manually start MSAS!

Hi

Check this:

Start - Run write "msconfig" without qoutes, Tab autostart.

You should find, C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Antispyware\gCAsserv.exe
as one start up.

On the basis that you mean the Startup tab it is there.

Strange........ ??

Also look if you have these 2 processes running
directly after reboot/restart.

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del

Tab processes

gcasDTserv.exe
gcasServ.exe

No not Nankash!

When I originally installed the programme MSAS would not start -Error
101. Subsequently I found a workaround.

Locate gcasDtServ.exe and double click. Add a shortcut gcasDtServ.exe to
your Desktop. Oddly when you double click the shortcut it doesn't start
MSAS but places an icon in the Notification Area of the Taskbar. Double
click on that and MSAS starts.

After discussing the problem with Bill Sanderson I did uninstall and
downloaded a new copy which I installed. It made no change to the
situation. It seems to be a bug, which others have encountered and a
number of users have overcome the start problem using the workaround.

The autostart problem would seem to be caused by the start problem.

That code had solved this from beginning.........
