Hey

Recently my computer has been acting up a bit...going slower than
normal, error messages, things of the like, and I want to clean the
harddrive of everything do get rid of all the crap thats on their that
I dont need and won't ever use. What would be the best way to do this
and keep all my important files (i.e. images, documents, audio files)?

If this means backing up the important stuff and whiping my HDD clean
then thats fine, but I dont know how to do that. If I do end up doing
that, how would I go about doing so, and how do I partition my HDD
incase I have to do something similar again so it wont be as painful?

Thanks alot
Dave

What OS? Do you have a CD burner? How many gigs of files do you have etc.

If you have not backed up the important files you need to do that now. One
way is to install a cd-rw drive if you do not have one . Software will come
with it to burn cd's for your important files.

YOur hard drive will crash on you, it is just a mater of when. Then you
will loose ll your files.

To help out next time, partition the hard drive . The C drive just big
enough for Windows and a few other things. One partition for the document
and music files. One partition for programs.
