Start X Server On Boot

can anybody please tell me how to make X run at boot time, without me
logging in and typing startx. Im using slack 0.0 if that helps. Also, can
someone please tell me a little about the lisa deamon and how to run it on
boot.

Boot up to runlevel 5 instead of runlevel 3.

thanks, but which config file would i set init 5 as default in? i want to
log in with X server rather than from the terminal, so i can choose
window managers and stuff.

Hm, I set this when I installed the system.
Do you have anything like linuxconf or Mandrake Control Center installed?
This is where I can change the setting without bothering with the exact
config file.

its ok, ive fixed it - any1 who wondered how to do it, i'l tell you how:


i edited /etc/inittab and set the default run-level to 4, thanks joachim.
