when I start my computer it it types immediately back up
your data and replace your hard disk. A failure may be
imminent press 1f to continue.
Please tell me if I can scan my hard drive to repaire the
problem or to find the problem and to fix it.

Thanks BOB

This is a hardware issue, you bteer do what it is telling
you to do. You are going to have to replace your drive.
Go to your HD manufacture and download their diag utility.

You should take that message seriously. If it's a
hardware problem (LIKELY), no scan, etc. will fix it
adequately. Save your data files NOW and replace the
drive.

The good news is, hard drives are cheap.

The bad news is, reloading the OS, etc. is a royal pain.

Good Luck !

Just an FYI, purchase ghost and duplicate your HD, no re-
installation needed.

BACK UP YOUR DATA NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take a deep breath and then find your HDD manufacturers diagnostic tool here. http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=238270
Run the diagnostic and if you are lucky it will simply find and fix a bad sector and that will end your warning. If not then replace the Hard Drive. In my case it was a simple disk error that was fixed and I saved a hundred or so bucks. {:~)
