start up

when i turn my pc on it goes through the boot up routine i have t press f8 t
cut it short it never done this before what have i or the kids done?

Sorry, I don't understand the question. What "boot-up routine"? What are you
cutting short?
 
The only reason you would be pressing F8 would be to get into the safe mode
menu. Is this what is coming up on your screen?

F8 key displays the Start Up Menu, so you can access the other start up
options like Safe Mode or Last Good Configuration etc. Normally there's no
need to press it (unless you have problems with starting Windows) - just let
Windows start up.

Unless there's some other underlying problem - please post back with any
errors you're getting; is Windows not starting properly?
