Click on Start then Run, type in msconfig and hit enter.
Click on the Startup tab.
These are all items set to run when you login.
Do you see anything listed there related to Earthling (or
maybe you meant Earthlink)? If so, clear the check mark
next to it and reboot.
Make sure everything works as it should. If not, go back
into msconfig's Startup tab and recheck the box.

When I start up my computer I get to the log in area. Once
there when I log in I have to wait about 2 minutes and my
earthling file folder is on the screen. I close it and it
takes another two minutes to shut down. How do I avoid
that? Any help appreciated.
