Hi guys,

Please can anybody shed some light on what I can do about
the following problem please.

My Brother's computer has decided it doesn't want to load
up windows. It gets to the AMIBIOS screeen and just
freezes. I have created a boot disk and it doesn't read
that - I just do not know what to do.

Any ideas?

Please help asap as he has a lot of Uni' work on it and is
really worried that he is going to loose the lot.

Many Thanks

Alex

Has someone been trying to overclock their system? (o:

You can lock up the computer bios by using the wrong settings.

If the above is not the case, the bios may have become corrupt. This also
does not happen without assistance (not that I have ever seen). A bios can
become corrupted if someone tries to "flash" the bios and does it
improperly.

At this point, shut off the computer. Open the case and remove the tiny
"button" battery from the motherboard. Leave the battery out for about one
hour. Then reinstall the battery, plug her in and give it a try. If
successful, you willed have cleared the cmos (bios) and the computer will
start with default settings. Note that you will have to go into the bios and
adjust everything! You will need to correct the date/year and time. Load the
bios defaults. Save and exit.

Give it a try!
