I have a strange startup problem on a laptop running Win2k
After bootup, when the desktop appears, the startup menu and sub-menus
appear on the screen and cannot be removed, so the screen looks as though
you had clicked on Start/Programs/Accessories/Communications/Fax/..
These screens refuse to go away whatever I try. The PC still works OK and
I can still use the start menu, it simply places new sub menus over the
first one. This second set clears normally when you click elsewhere, but
the first set is still left on screen.
Any of you geniuses out there have an answer? I can't detect any viruses
on it but it is possible that the laptop has been "got at" by a disgruntled
person.
Any help short of re-installing Windows, would be much appreciated.
