On XP, when you start up the computer, just before the welcome screen
appears, there is a picture (usually something like a windows logo or
whoever you got the pc from logo.) How do you change it???

Oh yeah....stability and all of that.

But if you REALLY want to do it check out THEMEXP.ORG. You can change your BootScreen, Welcome Screen and Visual Styles....really make XP look NICE NICE NICE....everyone's doing it.

One piece of advice though, the site (and most everyone else) recommends StyleXP for changing your visual style. If you would like to change your VS without the overhead of a service running I would recommend UXTheme Multipatcher. I have been using it 4 a while now and WITHOUT any problems.

Hi,

StyleXP changes the Visual Style and not the bootscreen. Changing the
bootscreen, i repeat myself, is a compromise to the stability and security
of your machine. Compromising these two factors just to make your computer
look different for 5 seconds (yes the bootscreen stays there for
approximately 5 seconds) is, in my opinion, not worth it.
