Start up noise Samsung 200g SATA

Peiodically my Samsung will make a clicking and spin up noise,.I have tested
the drive with utility from Samsung and all reports ok, (have not completed
full surface scan). Is this normal for these drives?

"Clicking and spin up" means an unusual noise when you turn
on the system, (sometimes, or always?) - OR - Does it mean
you hear only momentary click and spinup sound in situations
when the system had put the drive to sleep then was waking
it up for access?

The latter is normal, the former is not, especially if it's
a rapid succession of clicking when turning system on which
would tend to suggest the drive is failing and data backup
should be made immediately. That is, if you don't already
have current backups of the data which you should either
way.
 
Hello Kony, the noises are individual in that there is a click, then a spin
up sound, then nothing more. There is no repeated clicks, which I have heard
before from HD's, the Hitachi I have doesn't seem to do the click that I
have noticed, maybe its a quieter drive.....thanks...
