I've reccently (since christmas +-) have been having this
strange problem virus like (probably even it):
My ie seems to take about 4-5 minutes to start up instead
of the usual 4-5 seconds, and internet works like ... 1 kbs
(i have 512 adsl).
It also affects Windows Explorer windows, though once
opened, it works completly normal, unlike ie which keeps
beeing extremly slow.
It is no configuration/connection problems, since
exverything works alright:
mIRC;
Antivirus (Macfee);
Winamp;
Adobe Photoshop;
ICQ;
MSN messenger;
Online gaming (Unreal Tournament);
and connection works perfectly with alternative browsers
(Opera - which i am using now).
and i can easilly hav multi-windows open with various
programs np.
A friend of mine told me there has already been some
viruses which caused sintoms alike. But i hav Macfee latest
version/latest virus def. update from 26/12/2003 (3 days
ago) and still it doesnt detect a thing. I hav no knowledge
of anyone having the same problem as i do. Possible
Conflict/Corrupt File/Bug or something? Or probably just
another virus?
PS: I've tryed to reinstall ie, of course it says im trying
to replace it with an older version, since i have every
single update from win update done all the time. Any way to
reinstall it without having to uninstall? (i really need to
keep my definitions/passwords etc); it's the only test i
hav left.
