Start Up Hang Up

On loading XP Pro to my laptop, it has stuck in a
continual loop. Hanging at 39 mins to installation, it
reboots the laptop and starts the load up again at the
point where it hung up the first time. On trying to
escape, I am informed that there has been an error on
system security and that an extended error has occurred.
On closing that warning message, the laptop reboots
automatically and we are back at the setup screen again -
even if I physically close the machine and remove the
(legal) XP Pro disk.

I am stuck in this loop and have no idea how to get out.
Anyone to my rescue?
 
Reinstall your previous operating system on the laptop. When complete and
you are at the desktop, place the XP CD in the drive, when the setup screen
appears, select "Check System Compatibility." The report it generates may
give a clue as to the source of the issue.
