Is there a blue screen?

Do you have data files you need to recover?

Do you have access to a second computer? What is the make and model?

A Stop Error report is needed to provide targetted help.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Keep pressing the F8
key during Start-Up and select option - Disable automatic restart on
system failure. Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure.
Check for variants of the Stop Error message.

What is your computer make and model?

Have you tried Last Known Good Configuration?

Hope this helps.

Hi
Yes, I have data I need to recover
Yes I have access to a second computer but it's running Windows Vista, what
I'm having the problem with is an HP Pavillion 510c with Windows XP Home
Ed....don't know if that matters.

I did try the last known config...but it just kept restarting....after
multiple tries, I finally received a blue screen stating that a problem has
been detected....
Mountable_BOOT_VOLUME
Check any new hard/soft ware to make sure it's functioning properly (I can't
do a thing on the computer, but there hasn't been anything new installed)

Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing (I couln't find any
options for this) then Restart, F8, Advanced Options, Safe Mode.

Stop: 0X000000ED (0x82317030, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Thank you for your help!!
