If MS XP Home is your operating system, the following
procedure will prevent selected programs from running at
start up, but won't delete the program from you computer.
Click on Start, click on Help and Support, click on the
hyperlink Tools, click on hyperlink System Configuration
in the left panel (and again in the window if it asks),
once the multi-tab System Configuration window appears-
click on the Start Up tab, de-select those items you do
not want running at start up, then click Apply, then click
OK. Your computer will need to reboot for the new
settings to take place. The programs you de-selected
should not run at start up. Hope this is helpful...
