my computer is slow booting up everytime I log on. I got to the startup
programs and I don't know which ones to disable so computer boots up quicker,
(Iwas told to do this) I have new Vista, and am having one hard time dealing
with it.
Several other problems but...tackle one at a time!!
Would appreciate help on what programs to disabe for startup.

What programs are starting? Download Autoruns from Microsoft, to see what's
starting from where or look on the startup tab in msconfig.

Another option is open task manager, look at the running processes and then
research the ones you don't recognize using some of these tools:

I am not sure tinkering with programmes loading StartUp is the way
to a slow boot. It might provide part of a solution but there are
other points to consider.

How much RAM memory do you have?

Have you updated all third party drivers?

What are your anti-spyware arrangements?

Are there any Error or Warning Reports in Event Viewer occuring
during the boot process?

Do you have Norton or McAfee installed?

Hope this helps.
