Hello,

My computer refuses to start after a shutdown, when it already worked
immediately before.
Perhaps is there a problem of warming?
I opened the box and tried to start again... without success.

After about 30min, I can restart and work normally.

This phenomenon does not happen when the shutdown/restart takes place after
only a few minutes of work.

Any idea about the cause ?

Thank you vm in advance for any help.

Hi LC - if this happened to me, I would get hold of a Thermometer tool
such as 'HDD' - download online.
After installing this, keep an eye on temperatures (should not exceed 60
C or so, ideally should stay well below 50.)
With a good thermometer tool you can also check temp of your video card,
drives and PSU.

If the machine is obviously overheating, then maybe you are right that
there is a problem with overheating.

Otherwise, it could be a problem with the PSU (power supply of the PC).

Personally I cannot think of any other failure that could trigger the
kind of behaviour that you are describing.
The problem has got to be hardware related as far as I can see.

Somebody else might know more!

Thank you vm Cordelia,

Do you mean that the HDD temperature has an impact on the startup process?
For the PSU, I believe that if there was a problem, the screen should also
face pb (it is connected on the same PSU).

What's strange: I have another PC (exactly the same components,...). And
there is no pb there.
So is there any embedded thermometer component on my mother board? Perhaps
this component is not ok... ??

Anyway, I try to look at HDD thermometer tool and I let you know.

Hi again,
Usually this kind of thing is a matter of eliminating suspects until you
have isolated the cause of the problem.
The second likely cause is the PSU. At least now you know that you do
not have any temperature problems.

I don't know much about how to troubleshoot PSU.
Try searching the net for info though.
Also, check back here in a couple of hours. There are some very
knowledgeable people on this list - much better than me :-) .
I think somebody will be able to help you!

Thank you Cordelia,

In fact, only the HD t° was checked, I think.
I'll try with Sandra to if I can get measures for other components... but
I'll probably not have any indicator for the PSU... ;-((

I'll come back later to see if anybody else has an idea. In the meantime,
thank you vm for your advises and time.

Perhaps. When was the last time you blew out all the fans and the cpu
fansink with compressed air?
