Hi:

I have a friend who is even newer with computers than I am.

She is running Win XP Home, and now there is no start tab or button on her
desktop - all of her other icons are there, though.

How can I get her Start button back (at bottom left of screen) where it was?

Thanks

How can I get her Start button back (at bottom left of screen) where it was?

1. when she slides the mouse to the bottom of the screen, does the
taskbar come up? If so, right-click on it, select Properties, uncheck
Auto-hide.

2. When she slides the mouse to the bottom of the screen, does a
horizontal line, a few pixels wide, appear across the entire width of
the screen. (Look closely.) If so, she somehow resized the taskbar.
Click on the top edge of that line and drag it upward to the desired
width. Then right-click, select Properties, check Lock Taskbar, and
click OK.
