Hello,
I have came across a problem that needs a solution
Recently I wanted to clean all unecessary files in the
computer, eg: temporary files. This can automatically
done by doing:
Start->My Computer->Right Click C:->Clean Disk
All works fine until it starts to clean the disk and
seems to have froze when the progress bar reaches 4. I
understand that it may take a few minutes, but after 5-10
minutes the progress bar is still at 4, so I decide to
terminate the process.
My only temporary solution as of now is to do it
manually. Manually, I am able to delete all files in the
c:\documents and settings\name\local settings\Temp
The following has occured in:
c:\documents and settings\name\local settings\Temporary
Internet Files
i). When dragging the files to the trash bin I get an
error stating that it cannot find any files in the the
origin (mind the translation because I am using a
different language OS version prior to the English
version)
ii). When I select all - right click - delete, it manages
to delete all the files
I have tried to reboot in safe mode and remove the files
manually as explained above (making sure any windows are
closed), but the problem still persists.
I am wondering how this problem was caused in the first
place and if anyone can provide a solution. So far the
manual way is sufficient, but I am trying to find a way
by doing it automatically:
Start->My Computer->Right Click C:->Clean Disk
Pls email me if you have a solution.
PS. I am using Windows XP Home Edition
Best Regards
