How do you put the start icon back on the bottom of the desktop? I want it
back to be horizontal. Right now it's vertical and to the left.

Hi Jocelyn,

Place your mouse pointer in a blank area of the Taskbar, click and drag the
Taskbar back down to the bottom of the Desktop.

You should be able to simple click on an empty area of the task bar (the
blue bar that has the Start button on it) and drag it to the bottom of the
screen.

You're asking about the entire Task Bar, I assume, not just the Start
button.

Although by default the task bar appears on the bottom of the screen, it can
be on any of the sides you prefer it on. To move it from any side to
another, simply click on an unused part of it and drag it where you want it.
Be sure to click *within* it, not on the edge; clicking on the edge and
dragging will resize it.

If it won't move, it may be locked. In that case, right click on it and
uncheck "Lock the taskbar," then try again.
 
before u do what the other people told u to do , i think u have to right
click on EMTY PART OF desk top AND UNLOCK DESK TOP , THEN I THINK U WILL BE
ABLE TO DRAG IT , IT MIGHT TAKE A BIT OF PLAYING WITH BUT U WILL LEARN , I AM
A BEGINNER, LET ME KNOW HOW U GO ON

First, I am not the one one with the problem, so please reply to the
original poster, not me.

Second, please avoid posting in all caps, which feels like shouting to the
rest of us.

Third, you can't unlock the *desktop*, but you can, and may have to, unlock
the *task bar*, which is what I said.
