I don't know what happened but the start menu disappeared
What happens if you click Ctrl+Esc or the Windows key? Does the start menu
pop up? If yes, the taskbar settings need to be adjusted or the taskbar
needs to be resized.
If the start menu appears, the taskbar will probably reappear too. Right
click on it and select Properties. Check the "Always on Top" box. And if
you want it always present, do not check AutoHide.
If the taskbar is not seen or is a tiny sliver when the start menu appears,
resize it. Place the mouse at the edge of the screen where the start menu
appears. When you see double arrows, click and hold the mouse button to
grab the edge of the taskbar. Pull to the center of the monitor. When the
taskbar is at the size that you want, release the mouse button.
