This may seem ridiculous, but my Start taskbar is positioned vertically along
the left side of my screen. I've tried everything I can think of to get it to
go back to where it was along the bottom with no luck. How do I get it to go
back to where it was?

right click on the task bar and unlock the taskbar and then click and drag
the taskbar to the bottom of the screen and drop it there.

Good luck

Right-click an empty area in the Taskbar and uncheck Lock the Taskbar
option. Now, click on the middle area of the taskbar (it should be an empty
area) and drag it towards the bottom by clicking the mouse button and
bringing it down.

Note: The Taskbar will not move along as you move the mouse. But, after you
move the mouse to the bottom most area of the screen, the Taskbar will dock
itself to the bottom. Once moved, right-click the Taskbar and enable Lock
the Taskbar option.

Right click on a blank space in the Taskbar.

In the pop-up that appears, one of the options is "Lock the Taskbar".
Uncheck this option.

Then, place your cursor over a blank space on the Taskbar. Hold down
the left button of your mouse and drag the Taskbar back to the bottom of
your screen.

Right click on a blank space in the Taskbar and check the "Lock the
Taskbar" option.

It's also important for LadyHoshi to realize that there is nothing
"ridiculous" about her situation. Although the Task Bar is on the bottom of
the screen by default, it has the option of being dragged to any side of the
screen the user prefers it on. Although I personally prefer it on the
bottom, I know several others with different preferences.
