Start Menu Redirect Computer Specific

I currently have domain computers load their start menu from a setup on a
server by setting it up in User Configuration. However, we have multiple
locations and I'd like to load the start menu based on location ( use a
local server ). My users will consistently be active in multiple locations
so I need to do this at the computer level. I found out about GPO Loopback
processing, but still can't seem to find a way to re-direct the start menu
at a computer level.

Any assitance in how to do this or a specific resource that will help
facilitate this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

If you have a site per location you can apply a different GPO for each Site
to redirect Start Menu according to your needs.

Regards,

How would you setup a site per location? Obviously it would have to be
specific to the Domain and then also to the PC.

Thanks,

Andrew

You can have one domain in multiple sites--just configure the sites in AD
Sites & Services. It'll allow you to 'place' your servers (DC's) in sites
that are 'close' to the users. It'll allow for you to have less WAN traffic
to apply group policies, redirection, DFS shares, etc.

The PC will know what site it's in based on the IP address it gets. Each
site /should/ use a different subnet.

Thanks for replies and links.

I have reconfigured sites and services to break out into 3 separate
locations and it appears replication is working. Currently testing out
modify group policy based on site to redirect start menu off local server.
