On my new Windows XP, I recently installed several OLD and new programs.
My Start Menu was relocated to within one of the Program Files. I would like
to relocate it to it's original position on the drive, but I am not sure just
where that should be.

Would appreciate any help

The Start Menu that you see is a combination of both of these folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu
or %allusersprofile%\Start Menu
and
C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\Start Menu
or %userprofile%\Start Menu

Try this...
Reset the Shell Folders paths to defaults

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I found a simple work around, everything is now OK.

Just a note: the link
"If the response did not answer your question, click this link to continue
receiving notifications for this thread."
in the notification email is not working.

Thanks again

In the Explore Window, I took the 'Start Menu' and dropped in into the
'Window' Folder. It relocated itself properly. I knew that it usually
resided in the
Window File, but was uncertain of the actual location.

Thanks again.

Gotcha. Keep having fun. ;-)
