Hi!
I have Win XPPro and I'm sharing my PC with my son. I
created 2 accts with both admin rights so he could
install his programs. I've noticed that whenever I
deleted a prog entry in the Start Menu, his menu also
changed (entry deleted) and viceversa. I understand that
XP allows you to setup accts which should behave
independtly one from the other. What can I do to avoid
this behaviour? I tried by changing his acct to
a "Limited" actt but it did not work. Please advice.
Thanks!

The Start Menu for the current user is created from C:\DOCUMENTS AND
SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU and C:\DOCUMENTS AND
SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU. Personal menu items belong into the
second folder, those items which should be shown in all user accounts
go to the ALL USERS\START MENU folder.

If you open up My Computer and open up your c: drive, you will find a folder
called Documents and Settings. In this folder are subfolders for every user,
and another one for All Users. Any shortcuts that appear for both of you
will be in All Users. Any shortcuts that appear in one or the other account
will be custom for that account. This is true for the Desktop folder and the
Start Menu, so you can do all of your customizing here.
