Just recently when I start up my computer everything on the desktop
(icons) display as usual but the start button on the bottom left hand
side of the screen is not visible, the entire bar on the bottom of the
screen is not visible and the icons and time display on the bottom
right hand side are not there... Any ideas or solutions that I can do
to fix this?

This is Windows XP Professional.

Thank you in advance,
Wes

The task bar is resizable, like a window, and it's possible that
you may have accidentally resized it to zero.

Try this: move your mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen and
wiggle it up and down slightly, trying to make it turn into a
two-headed arrow. If it does, you've found the top of that
"zero"-height taskbar. Click and drag it upward to the size you
want.

Ken Blake,

This did not solve the problem. The cursor does not change at all when
I move it around the bottom part of the screen. I understand your
solution and have actually minimized the bottom portion in the past and
resized it with your solution. But this time it's like the entire
start button, bar along the bottom and icons and time clock at the
bottom right are not there at all. Any other suggestions?

Thank you,
Wes Gibbs

Then, what happens, is you probably have locked the Taskbar which
prevents the cursor to change to a double arrow. Right click where the
taskbar is supposed to be and let us hope the menu shows up where you
can unlock the task bar.
