In Outlook 2000, I entered select contacts with Categories set to Key
Customer. Then I defined a View called 'KeyCustMailing' with Settings for
Fields = Full Name, Business Address and the Advanced Filter criteria of
Full
Name is not empty, Business Address is not empty, and Categories doesn't
contain personal. Then I set the Current View to KeyCustMailing and start
Mail Merge by selecting Tools, Mail Merge. On the popup, I set Contacts to
All in current view, Fields to All in Current View, Document file to New,
don't check the Permanent file box in Contact data file, select Mailing
Labels under Document Type and New Document in Merge to. When I click OK,
Word 2000 launches and the Office Assistant pops up with a box to select
either Complete Setup or Tell me more... When I click on the Complete
Setup
radio button, the Mail Merge Helper pops up. I click on Setup and select
the
appropriate label. When I click OK, the Create Labels popup launches with
an
Insert Merge Field and an Insert Postal Bar Code buttons. This popup does
not
launch when I do this same procedure in Outlook/Word 2003, and I do not
get a
Mail Merge toolbar in Word 2003. In O/W 2000, I click on Insert and select
Full_Name and Business_Address and click OK. The Mail Merge Helper is then
reactivated and the Merge button is now also activiated, and I can
complete
the merge process. The Merge button on this popup is never activiated when
I
do this procedure in O/W 2003.
Outlook with a customized folder view and get a merge file that contained
only Contacts in certain Categories, like 'Key Customer'. When I try to
do
this in in Outlook 2003, the Mail Merge Helper launches in Word 2003, but
it
says it cannot find the data source created by Outlook. When I start
MailMerge from Word 2003, it grabs the entire Contacts folder out of
Outlook
2003, including those not designated as 'Key Customer'.
How do I start MailMerge in Outlook 2003 to use my old customized folder
views?

Provide accurate detail of the steps you used when you "do this."
It works just fine here.
