When you click on Start > Documents it shows some selection of documents
which you've touched at some point in the past. Is there some way to flush
that list? Or to set it to depth=1 or something?

Thanks...

Both SpyBot S&D 1.3 and Ad-Aware Personal will that, as will
several other programs. You can also turn it off all
together. And a right click can remove one. You can change
settings with TWEAKUI for XP (PowerToys)

Hi

You can that list by right clicking on the Start button then selecting
Properties>Customise>Clear - but that will clear the list of web sites you
have visited as well.

Right click in a blank area of your task bar and select
properties > advanced > then the button to clear recent docs.

Thanks to all who responded to my question. The variations of right clicking
on the task bar don't seem to bring up what the Microsoft Help files say it
should. Possibly because I've configured it to use the "classic" interface
rather than the newer one.

Anyhow, TweakUI does exactly what I wanted.

Thanks to everyone....
