START button slow

Hello Friends

The START button response on my Pro SP2 desktop has suddenly gotten
slow when I right click it. I have tried several suggested fixes with
no success.
Also desktop icons that lead directly to the web put up an initial
"site/server not found" message and then connect normally.

Thanks for any help!
 
Sounds like typical malware infection to me.

I suggest you become very familiar with the likes of 'Spybot Search &
Destroy' Hijack This, Windows Defender, and as many other programs as you can
and see if they show anthing un-toward.
