I set up a new PC with XP Professional. I am sure that I
entered the name correctly but when I logged on as the
user, all of the letters in the name weren't there. Is
there a limit to the number of letters that are displayed
on the start menu? If there isn't, where do I go to see
change the name display?

It allows up to 20 characters. (just tested it...I didn't know either)
To change your name, go into the control panel, then "user accounts".
