I am using animations which should start "on click". The animation starts
when I use the mouse's scroll-wheel or when I hit the "Page Down" or
Arrow-down keys. But when I click the standard mouse button, nothing happens.
Can I change this?

Click Slide Show > Slide Transition. Under Advance slide, ensure that "On
mouse click" is checked.

PowerPoint Heaven - The Power to Animate

I am having the same issue with object custom animation in one PowerPoint
2007 presentation. When I check all of my animation settings, all have "On
mouse click", plus the Triggers under Effect Options is set to "Animate as
part of click sequence". The presentation will not respond to mouse clicks
at all, but it will respond to hitting the Enter key.

Thank you...I thought your suggestion only mattered to slide transitions, but
it DOES affect animated objects within a presentation that does not have
slide transitions set. I would have never expected that!
