I'm pretty new around here, so I don't know if this has been discussed
at length -- seems most everything else has been.
I used Star Office some years ago. Although it was a pain in the neck
in some ways, it pulled everything together in one place, and I really
like that idea. When Sun removed the e-mail and other modules for their
upgrade, Ijust groaned.
I don't know anyone who has developed anything quite so tightly
integrated as Star did. I would love to find something that could pull
it all together in one package.
Why did Sun decide to strip the package down so much? I would likely
have paid for the upgrade.
Of course, freeware is better...<grin>
I've tried EasyOffice, and it's not even close. And OpenOffice, of
course, likewise misses the boat by not having the modules that Star
did. And 602PCSuite doesn't even have a database!
Sigh.
