I went to the site given in this NG,

and got the message "site unavailable." Does that mean the deal is off?

[not generally]
Um, I think a "404"/"file not found" message means
either the URL is wrong, or the page is moved or is gone;
but a "site unavailable" means either the server is
busy ( for instance, it has more requests for the page
than it can handle, you should try again later) or the
server is down (which may be temporary, try again later).

[specifically]
I just now (2003-12-14, about 10:51 AM, my time,
in Lansing, Michigan, USA) tried it and got thru;
one of the pages said the offer runs thru December 23;
one page, I forget which, asked for my e-mail address,
so I guess instructions for the free download will be
sent to me, . . .

So, try it again. The deal is not off, AFAIK (as far as I know).

These worked for me. A friend had to use a download manager to get
them, but I was able to download them using IE.
