FWIW-----------------

Staples.com is now allowing customers to reserve a copy of
Vista and Office 2007.
They go on sale at staples.com on January 27th.

I tried to fill in the ''reserve a copy" form using IE7 and FireFox 2.0.0.1,
neither worked.

I called Staples (1-800-378-2753) and was told that staples.com
is not fully compatible with those browsers.
The young lady I talked to filled out the form for me
and apologized for the problem.

I post this in case anybody else experiences this situation.

I was asked if I had IE6 - which I don't

Thanks for posting, but it begs the question what browsers are they
compatible with. It sounds like either they have a server configuration
problem. Surely Staples isn't getting slammed with free orders are they?

This should have read.

Thanks for psoting but it begs the question what commonly used browser would
they be compatible with? It sounds like either they have a server
configuration problem or (very doubtful) they're being slammed with orders.

Are those republican Senators and Congressman I see stampeeding away from
Yokel Bush or as Maureen Dowd is calling him, Hieronymus Bush?

This would be funny if it weren't going to result in so many deaths with no
good outcome.

That would probably be the case of many people on this group. I don't
either. Many of us who have any XP have upgraded IE6 to IE7.

Isn't IE7 now considered a security update for XP? I haven't used XP in a
while but I recall seeing IE7 as an update (maybe even a critical update?).
And yet there are still sites asking people to have IE6.

FWIW2

I tried this site again this morning using Firefox and IE7, it worked in
both browsers.
Such is life in the land of ".....and I dunno why"

And it turned out to be an unmitigated disaster.

Not on my machine it isn't! It's quite mitigated. 8^)

IE7 runs fine for me and only give me problems on a few
Websites.

You're an exception because you probably researched how to install it
instead of just clicking OK on the EULA when this unmitigated disaster
was pushed through Auto Updates with no explanation as to what
preparation was needed to install it properly.

That said, even a good install will only give you an unmitigated
disaster of a browser.

Yes, it's a great site! The reason it is some of the best of MS is
because they bought sys internals out.
