Depending on which you consider 1st -- lowest or highest -- try one of the
following in B1 and copy down:

=rank(B1,$B$1:$B$5)

=rank(B1,$B$1:$B$5,1)

----- original message -----

use RANK()

=RANK(B2,B2:B6,1)

Depending on which order you want the rank to go, may want to use 0 instead
of 1.

I'm assuming the numbers represent a timing situation, not actual
times of day. Either turn the numbers into a decimal value (like
"6.52") using

=VALUE(LEFT(D4,2))+(VALUE(RIGHT(D4,2))*0.01)

or if the number before the colon represents hours or minutes then

=VALUE(LEFT(D4,2))*60+(VALUE(RIGHT(D4,2)))

which will return an integer of the number of seconds or minutes.

Then use RANK as indicated above.

Justin
