Standby problem

Seasons greetings...........

Running XP Pro on a p4 system with Supermicro P4spa+ board I can't work out
why the warning "device failure occoured but windows recovered, please
re-boot" appears every time the pc goes into standby?

I am using the on board graphics and wonder if this is the problem?

Try reinstalling the video drivers. The video drivers are directly related to the power options. The following is an excerpt from Windows XP Inside Out:

Your computer won’t enter standby or hibernation.
Power management features—in particular standby and hibernation—rely on device drivers that support power management in addition to compatible hardware. In particular, incompatible video drivers prevent these features from working. The built-in VGA driver, for example, is a bare-bones driver that doesn’t support power management. If standby and hibernate don’t work, install an updated driver for your display adapter.
