Standby Problem. Computer Beginner Needs Help!

I am using XP Home, and after a while of leaving the computer on without
touching anything (mouse, keyboard, etc), it'll automatically go into
standby. Then, if long enough, I'll have to restart my log in and i'll have
to restart all my programs.

Any ideas to help me?

click start......open Control Panel/Power Options and change the settings to
what you would like the machine to do

go to start-settings-control panel-power option- choose the value a
your need.
