Hi-

I recently loaded Windows XP on my laptop - and although
there are setings for standyb and hybernation available
in power options, the system never enter into standby.

Also,Standyby is not an option (highlighted) under "Turn
off Computer" fom START.

Is there a seting somewhere where I can turn this on? It
was available before I upgraded/reloaded?

Thanks in advance-
Phillip

You should check the support website of the manufacturer
of you laptop to see if they offer the specialized hardware drivers
necessary for running Windows XP, including video adapter
drivers, audio drivers, keyboard drivers, NIC drivers, etc.

Once you install the video adapter drivers, the Standby button
should appear.
