Standby Inaccessible, Hibernate gone.

Standby is grayed out. Hibernate does not appear in shut down window. I
won't have much use for hibernate - that can wait - but need to get standby
working as soo as possible.

More often caused by Bad or improper video drivers. Try reinstalling your VGA
drivers through your Motherboard or Display Card CD.

Need hibernate as 4th button in Shut Down dialog box, try this:

Thanks, Wesley. Sorry for late reply. Difficut & troubled install of XP.
Will look into your posted URL's this afternoon.
This was second install of XP. First had a space prob - new HDD needed. In
first, I had Hibernate, no standby.

Will tell you how it goes.
