If you want me to help you out then you have to give me a complete
description. You only specify that monitor type which is "Plug and Play". Is
there nothing else written after "Plug and Play Monitor on.......". If there
is nothing else then the problem could be with your Display Drivers only.
What you need is the Motherboard CD that comes with your PC. Just insert the
CD and you will see an option to install VGA or DISPLAY Drivers. Only 32-Bit
colors not enough for Standby to work. Windows must know that what Display
Adpater you are using to work properly. Furthermore, if you didn't solve your
display drivers then you will also face some problems in other graphic
programs like Games.
About POST screen? This is what you see when you turn on your PC like
information about your BIOS manufacturer, Processor Speed, Amount of RAM
installed etc. or just the company logo like HP. If your computer is too fast
then chances are you will not able to see this. If you want to check out the
settings of your BIOS then turn on your PC and try hitting DEL key at the
same time to enter in the BIOS. The key will be different to enter in BIOS,
depends on your BIOS. Here you have to check out some settings. If you are
not sure what to do then here is an option about "LOAD BIOS DEFAULTS" OR
"LOAD SETUP DEFAULTS".
