Standby and monitor problems

Lately, whenever I bring my computer out of "Standby
mode" (by moving mouse, touching key on keyboard, etc.)
the hardrive does come out of standby, as does the
monitor. However, the monitor screen remains blank. The
only way I get the mointor to work properly againis by
rebooting.

Any helpul hints as to how I can fix this problem?
