Hello

I have a Windows 2000 Pro with SP4 running on an Athlon XP 1800+ with
256 MB ram. I freshly installed it 6 months ago with no problems. Now
I bought an USB Stick and tried to connect it to the computer and
Surprize!! It is found but Windows asks me about the drivers, which
normally are within win2000. The stick is ok functions on other
computers and tried also a different one on my computer with same
result.

I come now to my real problem. I opened the Wizard for installing the
driver and wanted to manualy install the driver. Another bad surprize
: All the drivers which Windows natively knows are gone. It means that
all standard devices for which it has drivers are completely gone.

Has someone heard about this issue, and how can I correct this without
reinstalling everything. I also want to add that firstly, before I
reinstalled the computer I was confrunted to the exactly same issue,
and thought a fresh install will correct it.

Regards

Scuty
