Standalone ppts to ppt converter?

Zamzar.com works fine as an online converter but requires accessing the
returned file as an email . The situation where I need it in earnest will be
out of internet contact.
I would like a stand alone pc application, does anyone know of one ? Two
that I've downloaded that will apparently do the job needs an active
internet connection just to install the things - something I'm not prepared
to do unless anyone knows for sure that it is a benign process.
