stand by settings problems

Jotta

When I put the computer on standby it turns back on
without pressing the wakeup. Why doesn't it continue on
standby until I wake it up? All the settings are
at "never".

If you mean that the PC immediately starts up again, reinstall your
video drivers, then reboot. If there's a pause, it's likely that your
mouse is reacting to vibrations, particularly likely if, say, it's an
optical mouse on a hard surface. Try leaving it on a piece of foam and
going into standby via the keyboard.

There are also some BIOS settings which can wake the computer from
standby, if so configured, like the phone ringing.
