FYI for those who might be interested.

I have vista 64 bit and am successfully running Stalker. So far no issues.
Some people are reporting some crashes however.

I have a new core2 duo with 8800 (320mb) running at 1680 x 1050 and it is
fairly demanding from a PC perspective however. SLows down

I'm *unable* to play Stalker under my 64-bit Vista. (Vista 64-bit, 4GB,
Core 2 Duo E6700, 8800GTX)

I can launch the game fine, go through and muck with the menus, and start a
game which lets me watch the first video cutscene. Then when the gameplay
actually starts, it just looks like I'm floating in the sky at 50,0000
feet. I can see clouds above, nothing below. Everythig is just just sky-
blue nothingness as far as I can see. I assume I'm supposed to be indoors,
because i can here the sound just fine, but there's just nothing there
except the clouds above... just blue-gray background. Basically, it seems
like all textures and whatnot are failing to load so the only thing I'm
left with is the sky. Oh, I do get the little mini-map / radar displayed
in the corner, and if I 'walk' around, I can tell I'm bumping into walls.

I've seen two posts on the gamespot forums by people with the same problem.

Tried turning down the settings in various ways in case there was some
issue with the drivers trying to support the high textures and whatnot, but
to no avail.

Two days ago? Something like that.

Just watched the opening intro on a Centrino Core Duo 2.16Ghz and a ATI
FireGL V5200 running XP.

Can you say sexy?
