Can anyone tell me how to fix stack overflow without going into the
registry, because I'm afraid I might mess something up. And what
causes stack overflow>

Can you give more details on when you are getting this error and the exact
error message you are getting and how/when it is presented to you along with
your Operating System (edition - like Home, Professional, Professional x64,
Media Center, Tablet PC; and service pack level - like SP1, SP2 or SP3) and
what antivirus software you utilize, what (if any) antispyware tools you
utilize and what type of maintenance you perform on your system periodically
(backups, CHKDSK, defragmentation, scans for malware, unused application
removal, updates for the operating system, updates for the other
applicatioons installed, etc.)?

Unless it's specific to a single application

could be a RAM problem


run a RAM test to find out
