I've not seen any problems. I wonder how many of the people who have were
those who had to run the latest warezed versions of the beta?

Well, DirectX 9 works great with Windows XP. However, to obtain the
full performance of DirectX 9, you need a new video card that supports
DirectX 9 as well as software that can support the benefits of DirectX 9.

Of which there is, afaik, none around yet. Upgrading to DX9 from 8.1,
while suing the same old video card and running the same old games, is
not going to offer any benefits, and there is a =small= chance that
you'll find some problem you didn't have before.

Actually most of the newer Radeon cards are DX 9 compatible. At least
the ones from the 9500 on up are.

Also one game that I know of now requires DX9 with a DX9 compatible
vid card. Everquest II (it also requires 512 MB of memory too) So it
is defenitely a game for serious gamers only for sure.

You would also benefit from the updates to the other technologies that come
under DirectX such as DirectPlay/Input and Sound to name a few.
