set up a Linux distro but once up and running, you don't need to care
anymore; latest Linux even self-update over the Web. Windows XP used to be
easy to set up, but would then cause problems once up and running. With
Vista, it's complex to set up (e.g., bluetooth, extra video and audio codecs,
etc.) and once up and running problems continue. You might even lose your
documents in Office 2007 running under Vista when moving them between
different machines (on a USB drive), because of the "new file system
security" features.
