For some reason I can not connect to secure websites. I
can browse through any web site until I reach an HTTPS
link. Then my computer will not accept the link and I get
an error message. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Start/run "regsvr32 softpub.dll" (without the quotes) while Internet
Explorer is closed. Then retry the secure sites.

Make sure you are running 128 bit encyrption. Most HTTPS
sites won't work unless you have it. Open IE go to Help > About IE
and look for cipher strength. Should be 128. If not, you should be
able to get it from MS.

I tried the "regsvr32 softpub.dll" and confirmed that I
am running on a 128 bit encyrption.

Any other ideas would be very much appreciated.

Are you going through any kind of proxy or firewall? Maybe your
proxy/firewall is blocking HTTPS? What's the error you receive?

The message I get is "page can not be displayed"

There is no proxy/firewall...I do have Norton Internet
Security...but that doesn't seem to be the problem. It is
not set to block anything. This wasn't a problem until I
had Sony fix my laptop and when it came back, something
has been changed. No seems to be able to tell me what or
why?

Also, it doesn't seem to matter where I connect. At home,
in the office or through a wireless connection. They all
have the same problem. That is why I think it is a
setting on the laptop.

Thanks...I will give that a try.
