Hey All,

I am having a problem with my Windows 2000 mahcine connecting to my webmail
once i installed a SGC from thawte.

I have gone through KB article 875450
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;875450) But I
already run SPK4, IE6 and for arguments sake I installed the high Encryption
Pack.

Does anyone know what else could be the issue why I only get a page can not
be displayed error when trying to access web pages protected by a SGC
certificate.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Brad

Hey All,

I can establish a https connection from my windows XP based Clients, so the
SSL is set up correctly.

The issue seems to be that when any of the Windows 2000 Pro machines try to
connect to the SSL site they get a page cannot be displayed error?

Cheers

Brad

Hi Brad,

Can you get an HTTPS connection at all ?
If you cannot, this solution might help you to get HTTPS working at
least

Hi Brad,

It seems that the problem is with the size of the private key of your
certificate. You are using a private key of 16384 bit which is quite
big. Certain browsers are not be able to negociate an SSL session with
such a private key size. 1024 bit is the recommended size.

Have a look at step 5 on the link below:
http://www.thawte.com/ssl-digital-certificates/technical-support/keygen/iis5_keygen.html

Your best bet will be to generate another CSR private key of 1024 and
get your certificate reissued.

You can get your thawte certificate reissued free of charge on
www.thawte.com/reissue ; it usually takes 2-3 hours.

Thanks
